Kolla, det är en ny hårdrockstidning som inte nämner Slipknot en enda gång.

Förra lördagen fick man ju finbesök av en före detta Terrorizer-skribent och en före detta Bizarre-fotograf (åh, Bizarre). De – Louise Brown och Ester Segarra – berättade att de för ungefär två år sen surnade på att leva i en värld full av metaltidningar med skitband på omslaget och – om man har tur – två intervjuer med bra band inklämda nånstans mittemellan Evanescence och Insane Clown Posse.
Så Louise bestämde sig för att göra en hårdrockstidning med det helt unika konceptet ”enbart bra musik.”
Och nu är den här. Iron Fist. Och hon har lyckats.
Ester har tagit omslagsbilden – på E från Watain – och formen är gjord av Adam Zaars (Repugnant, ex-Enforcer, Tribulation).

”In this age of digital media, a time that the music industry is allegedly on it’s last legs due to the fact that recorded music is now ‘free’, it is said that the printed format is dying. Current opinion suggests that former readers no longer rely on what music magazines provide when the web offers endless possibility.
There’s no point buying a magazine is there?
Just as there is no point in buying a CD.
But hang on, we over at Iron Fist are always buying CDs (LPs actually). We don’t consume our music via shitty mp3s and we would rather read about our favourite bands (and learn about new ones) via a printed medium as opposed to gawping at an iPad screen. That’s just how we are.
Are we out of step with the current climate? Probably. But, as most of our friends are the same way as us, we’re sure we can’t be totally alone.
So… We’ve started a Heavy Metal magazine. The one that we want to read. It’s called Iron Fist and issue one is available now.
As well as featuring an in-depth interview with Swedish black metal titans WATAIN and a cover that was conceived by frontman Erik Danielsson, our debut issue also features a thirty-year retrospective interview with thrash titans SODOM, a harrowing chat with SHINING, a celebration of the lasting impact made by Brazilian proto black metal forerunners SARCOFAGO and the sound of heavy metal thunder from GRAND MAGUS and BULLET as well as the best in new and classic heavy, thrash, doom, death and black metal.
